Research Focus
Realisation of the CWiMI Vision is through six goals:

Engage in research, contracting services and education related to water use in the minerals industry;

Capture the benefits and opportunities for the minerals industry associated with sustainable management of water;
- Meet the increasing demand for knowledge by the minerals industry to support management decisions that improve water use efficiency;
- Facilitate knowledge and technology transfer from research to mine operations to ensure that benefits of sustainable water management are realised;

Address the economic, social and environmental sustainability issues relating to water availability, use and discharge taking into account the wider environmental, social and economic context of the minerals industry;
- Assess the cumulative impacts of the minerals industry on water availability taking into account the regional environmental, social and economic context.
